About

Teruyo Tanaka is the founder of KINOTO RESEARCH.

KINOTO RESEARCH develops practical tools and structured information systems for working with regulatory requirements, technical standards, and complex technical documents.

Drawing on experience in international regulatory and standards research, I use technologies and formats including the e-Gov API, Python, Excel, and CSV to improve document acquisition, data conversion, revision tracking, comparison, and information organization.

The objective is not only to collect information, but also to organize it in a form that makes the source, date of confirmation, revision history, and basis of the research traceable.

What I Do

Regulatory and standards research involves more than locating information. It also requires identifying the correct documents, obtaining them through appropriate sources, converting formats, reviewing amendment histories, comparing versions, managing citations, and structuring results.

KINOTO RESEARCH transforms knowledge gained through practical work into tools, templates, data structures, and repeatable workflows.

Core Expertise

Based on the research objectives, scope, and conditions provided by the client, we identify and organize relevant information from official primary sources, including government authorities, legal databases, standards organizations, and certification bodies.

  • Official primary-source research on laws, regulations, and technical standards
  • Cross-jurisdictional and cross-document comparison
  • Legal amendment history and document difference extraction
  • Data conversion between PDF, XML, CSV, and Excel
  • Workflow design for regulatory and standards information
  • Structuring research results for databases and future reuse
  • Japanese and English technical information organization

Tool and System Development

I analyze recurring practical tasks and transform them into repeatable tools and workflows.

  • Conversion of e-Gov XML and API data into CSV and Excel-oriented formats
  • Retrieval and classification of legal amendment histories
  • Extraction of clause numbers, headings, table titles, and figure titles
  • Structured conversion of PDF content into Excel-oriented data
  • Comparison of multiple documents and revisions
  • Management of standards acquisition and research histories
  • Searchable and reusable research knowledge systems
  • AI-assisted research and document-processing workflows

Professional Background

After graduating from a university in the United States, I worked in the automotive industry for approximately 20 years.

My experience includes internal systems, business process improvement, human resources, business development, research, and business documentation. Across these roles, I worked on identifying operational problems and transforming them into practical processes and systems.

After becoming independent, I focused on international regulatory research, technical standards, import and export-related information, and technical document processing. The knowledge gained through this work is now being applied to the development of practical tools and structured information systems.
